In our careers we have, and continue to, conduct hundreds of interviews each year for our clients and they, and others, spend large sums of money pulling SQL resources away from their day to day tasks to perform tedious and often fruitless technical tests over the telephone as a first stage interview. The positions concerned cover a vast array of roles from a Junior SQL Developer through to top level SQL Server Architects and the one thing they all have in common are the frustratingly large amount of woefully unqualified candidates. A lot of SQL Server professionals work in isolation and therefore it is all too easy to proclaim yourself a SQL Server expert.
